Why Voicemail can be retrieved from iPhone
Generally, Vociemail messages are held by phone computers and saved on their servers. The messages expire after a certain time and will be deleted from the company's servers. In this case, you can't retrieve the deleted Voicemail. But if you've paid for visual Voicemail, you can download your Voicemail messages from the server to your iPhone, and you can hear it anywhere and anytime. Also, when you accidentally deleted or lost them permanently on your iPhone, you still can recover them.
How to retrieve Voicemail on iPhone: 2 ways
As to the visual Voicemail has been saved on your iPhone, there are two ways for you to retrieve it: Directly scan your iPhone to get it back or retrieve it from your iTunes backup if you have a habit to sync your iPhone with iTunes. No matter which way you choose, you'd have an iPhone data recovery tool:
Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Mac), which provides you with these two ways to retrieve deleted Voicemail messages.

Note: You'd better not use your iPhone for anything after you lost the Voicemail message, because the deleted Voicemail message can be overwritten by new data. Once it's overwritten, you can never retrieve it.
Part 1: Directly scan your iPhone 4/3GS to retrieve deleted Voicemail
When you choose this way, you need to know that Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Mac) currently can only recover Voicemail messages by directly scanning iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS. If you use iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S, you need to switch to the solution in part 2.
Step1.Connect your iPhone to the computer
To get started, run the program and connect your iPhone to the computer. Then you'll see the window below (If you use iPhone 3GS, it will automatically download a plug-in here. It's normal. Just get it finished).
Step2.Start scanning your iPhone for lost Voicemail messages
Then follow the way below to get into the scanning mode to scan your iPhone:
- Click Start on the window of the program.
- Press Power and Home buttons your iPhone right now for 10 seconds.
- After 10 seconds, release the Power button and continue pressing the Home button for another 15 seconds.
When you're informed that you've got into the scanning mode, and the program begins analyzing and scanning your iPhone, you can release the Home button and wait for a moment.
Step3.Retrieve your Voicemail from the iPhone
Not only Voicemail messages, Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Mac) also scans and recovers other data like photos and videos from Camera Roll, messages, contacts, notes, etc. For Voicemail, you can click Voicemail on the left side of the window below. Then tick off the items you want (Voicemail messages are not allowed to preview, you'd better choose them all for recovery), and click Recover to save them to your computer with one click.

Step1.Choose the iTunes backup and extract it
You don't need to connect your iPhone to the comptuter when you adopt this way. Just run the program on your computer, and switch to Recover from iTunes Backup File on the top. Then you'll see the window as follows.
Here, all your iTunes backup files are found and loaded. Choose the one for your iPhone and click Start Scan to extract it.
Step2.Recover iPhone Voicemail messages
The scan will consume you a few seconds. After it, you can check all contents in the backup file. Tick off the option of Voicemail and click Recover. Now you get back your previous iPhone Voicemail messages.
